Here are some common ACP panel installation connection modes.
(1) Rivet connection:
ACP Sheets can be joined between sheets or between sheets and other materials using rivets suitable for aluminium. For outdoor or high humidity applications, core-pulling rivets with stainless steel cores should be used to avoid corrosion affecting the surface of aluminium-plastic sheets. If the rivet with iron core is used, the iron core must be pulled out after the riveting connection. Countersunk rivets can only be used for indoor applications.
(2) threaded fixtures:
It can be divided into external and indoor use.
A. Outdoor fixtures:
When using threaded fixtures outdoors, it is necessary to consider the thermal expansion coefficient of aluminium-plastic sheets. In order to avoid the extrusion deformation of aluminium-plastic sheet due to thermal deformation, the holes on the top of the aluminium-plastic sheet need to be larger than the diameter of the screw in order to meet the requirements of expansion.
The use of stainless steel threads with sealing gaskets can avoid extrusion deformation of ACP sheets
. The function of this product has been verified. To select the suitable screw for structural material, the screw should be tightened with a torsion wrench or screwdriver to ensure that the gasket effectively seals the opening but not too tightly and leaves traces on the surface of the ACP sheet. Sometimes it is necessary to drill holes with deformed bits or sleeves on the aluminium plate or bottom structure to achieve the construction of centered holes and rivets. It is important to ensure that the protective film is removed before the screw is fixed.
B. Fixtures for indoor use:
Connections for indoor applications can be fixed with steel plates or boards of different head shapes. These screws usually do not allow thermal expansion displacement of aluminium-plastic sheets. The countersunk screw can be used to fix the aluminium-plastic plate. It can use the usual countersunk hole method or directly press the aluminium panel into the plate. The holes on the aluminium plate are larger than the diameter of the screw.
(3) Plastic welding (for PE core only):
Welding between plastics by hot air can be applied to the connection between ACP sheets. The polyethylene core layer of ACP sheet melted by heated air is connected with polyethylene plastic welding rod after cooling. The following are the conditions for obtaining good welding quality: A. Prepare good board edge interface; B. Clean hot air; C. Correct welding temperature; D. Correct contact pressure; E. Welding speed.
Metal adhesives/general adhesives are used for interior billboards and booth layout. Common metal or common adhesives are suitable for bonding on composite plates. Double-sided tape is suitable for low strength connection. For situations requiring high strength bonding, we recommend the use of one-component binder, SIKA-BOND.
(5) Card connection:
Usually modular fixtures can also be used to fix and connect ACP sheets. Fixtures can be made of aluminium or plastic materials, usually consisting of two parts and connected by screws.
